On October 1-2, 2021 at the Kliczków Castle near Bolesławiec we hosted 150 participants – tree friends, activists, professionals, local government officials, green spaces managers who are looking for ideas on how to effectively protect and care for trees and engage others to do so. The 5th nationwide FORUM OF TREE FRIENDS was also a conference summarizing the LIFE project “Trees for Europe’s Green Infrastructure” and was devoted to tree management standards, legal changes and social activities for trees. This time, the keynote speaker was Katharina Dujesiefken from BUND Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, an expert in tree protection, activist for the preservation of avenues in Germany, leader of the bicycle rally along the German Avenue Route (Deutsche Alleenstrasse).
During the 5th National Forum of Tree Friends, the participants signed an appeal to the highest state authorities regarding the adoption of the National Tree Program, because trees are our protective shield against climate change
